The budget retail giant is looking to open a new store on West One Retail Park in Eccles after exchanging contracts with Frogmore.
West One is ideally placed for the company as it is located just off the busy Junction 2 of the M602 and boasts fantastic transport links with both Bus and the MetroLink close-by as well as ample on-site car parking.
Lidl has proposed opening a 14,000 sq ft food store by joining two vacant retail units together on the Eccles site. If given the green light by Salford Council then the popular food retailer would be joining the likes of Home Bargain, Pure Gym, Iceland Food Warehouse, Toy store Smyths and The Range who have all made the retail park their home in recent years.
The beleaguered retail park has managed to turn its fortunes around since the high profile Range chose to set up shop there, it is now starting to thrive.
Lidl’s regional head of property Nick Harvey said:
Quote“We are delighted to be proposing a new store on West One Retail Park, which marks another milestone in our ambitious store expansion programme. We’ve seen incredible demand for Lidl stores across the country and look forward to offering our quality products and incredible value to shoppers in and around Eccles.”
