The new development will see 157 homes built across four plots on land acquired by the company from the University of Salford in November 2015.

The project will see a mix of two - three and four bedroom homes built at first with two additional phases adding a further 110 and then 233 homes at a later date if further plans are given the green light.

There is also talk of a possible school on the site.

“Getting detailed planning on the first phase of new homes at Castle Irwell means we can now push on and turn this brownfield site into a new community of contemporary high- quality housing with lots of green open space.

“We will be revealing more details shortly with a view to launching sales next month and the first homes will be completed by mid-2021.”
