The 30-year-old striker has been in fine form in 2023, scoring six goals in six League Two appearances in January to take him to the top of the Club goal scorer chart.
Two of his goals have been nominated for the Club’s TalkTalk Goal of the Month, which you can vote for here.
He also made national TV as Soccer AM picked up his nutmeg of Sutton United’s Louis John before scoring his second of that match.
McAleny was born in Liverpool, England on February 2, 1992, and he joined the youth academy at his hometown club, Everton, at the age of 9. He progressed through the youth ranks and made his professional debut for the club in December 2011, in a League Cup match against Chelsea.
He joined Salford in July 2021 after a one year stint at Oldham Athletic where he made his mark by scoring 21 goals during the season before later being snapped up by the Ammies where he has continued to impress on the pitch, scoring his first goal for the team in the following month.
He is up against fellow forwards Kristian Dennis (Carlisle United) and Tom Nichols (Gillingham), and former Salford defender Carl Piergianni (Stevenage).
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday morning.
