  • 32-YEAR-OLD RECOVERING IN HOSPITAL AFTER A STABBING IN WALKDEN

    Police and Ambulance Services were called after reports of a man suffering from stab injuries in Walkden, close to the junction with Atkin Street and Walkden Road at around 9:36pm last night (Friday 25th June).

    The man was not seriously injured but was taken to hospital to be treated.

    Walkden Road was closed at the junction with Atkin Street for some time but has since been reopened.

    No one else is being sought in connection.

    A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said:

    "Officers were called at about 9.36pm on 25 June to Walkden Road, Salford, to concerns over the welfare of a man.

    "North West Ambulance Service also attended and a 32-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

    "Police aren't looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
