  • A 20-YEAR-OLD MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED AFTER A STABBING ON GREAT CHEETHAM STREET EAST ON FRIDAY EVENING

    A man in his 40's was hospitalised after being stabbed at around 8:45pm yesterday evening (Friday 14th August).

    Another 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and grievous bodily harm.

    Police had said that the victim was taken to hospital with a stab wound, his condition is being described as non life threatening, although he was kept in hospital for observation.

    A police cordon was put into place around an area of Symons Street, Great Cheetham Street East and Gainsborough Street.

    The 20-year-old man has been detained for questioning and remains in custody.

    Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 3347 of 14/08/20.
