  • A 50 YEAR OLD WOMAN IS FIGHTING FOR LIFE AFTER DOUBLE STABBING IN KERSAL

    A 50-year-old woman is in a critical condition after a stabbing that took place on Wednesday evening in Eastcombe Avenue in Kersal.

    It is thought that the ladies husband was also injured and hospitalised in the attack, his wife remains in a critical condition. 

    Police say that a 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, he is currently being held in custody as police question him about the incident.

    A statement from GMP read:

    “Shortly before 9.30pm on Wednesday 7 March 2018 police were called to reports of a stabbing at a property on Eastcombe Avenue in Salford.

    “On arrival, officers discovered a woman in her 50s who had suffered serious stab wounds.

    “A man in his 50s had also suffered a number of slash wounds.

    “Both currently remain in hospital and the woman is in a critical condition.

    “A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody for questioning."

     

    Forensics officers scoured the area today but the cordon surrounding the home on this small residential cul-de-sac has now been lifted and only a couple of officers remain present.
