  • A MAN FROM SALFORD HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH TERRORISM OFFENCES AFTER BEING FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION OF TERRORISM DOCUMENTS

    Greater Manchester Police have disclosed that a man has been charged with a terrorism offence in Salford.

    Ataubaq Taj, 27/12/1985, of Hacking Street, Salford, has been charged with one offence under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 which relates to the possession of a document or record likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

    Taj has been conditionally bailed and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday 10 February 2020.

    Officers from Counter Terrorism Police North West executed an arrest warrant at an address in Salford on Wednesday 8 January 2020 and arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of a terrorism offence.
