It has been reported on Social Media that a car (dark blue Renault Clio) has ended up on its roof shortly after 5pm on the Westbound carriageway of the East Lancs (A580), just after the Worsley Road junction and close to Albert's Restaurant & Bar.

We are told that the shook up driver of the vehicle managed to climb out himself, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening, although he was checked out by an ambulance crew and taken to Salford Royal as a precaution.

The road has now been cleared and the vehicle removed, traffic is moving again.

It is unclear yet as to how the car ended upside down, although it has been said that the road was slippy due to downpours and surface water, we will update this post as soon as we have more information.
