    At around 6:45pm police attended the scene of an accident on the East Bound stretch of Liverpool Road, just before the bridge at Patricroft.

    A 10 year old girl involved in collision with car.Road closed but reopened by 8.15pm.

    The police say the girl suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital to be checked over as a precaution.

    This comes as a petition is launched for a pedestrian crossing to be placed on the busy road [LINK] gaining 475 signatures within less than 24 hours.
