Emergency Services were called to the canal tow path close to Monton Bridge yesterday (April 7th) after reports of an elderly man having collapsed.

Sadly the man in his 80s had died at the scene and police temporarily cordoned off the area along the towpath as well as the entrance to it along the top of Verdun Road.
