An arrest has been made following an incident on Amos Street (Off Langworthy Road) in which a man was left with serious head injuries this morning.
At around 8am on Thursday 27th May officers were called to reports of concern for the welfare.
Upon arrival a man was discovered to have sustained serious injuries to his head.
He was quickly rushed to the nearby hospital where is said he remains in a serious but stable condition.
An arrest of a man on suspicion of assault has been made.
A spokesperson for GMP said:

"At around 8am this morning (27th May), officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare on Amos Street in the Langworthy area of Salford.
"A man was found with significant head injuries and taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
"A scene is still in place as enquiries continue
"A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault."
