  • ARRESTS MADE AFTER A 17-YEAR-OLD BOY WAS STABBED IN STRETFORD

    Officers were called to School Road, Stretford shortly before 1.50pm on Wednesday 17 July 2019 to a report that a boy had been stabbed.

    Emergency services attended and the boy, aged 17, was taken to hospital.

    He remains in a stable condition with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

    A boy aged 13, three men aged 19, 21 and 28 and a woman aged 22 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

    Detectives are treating it as an isolated incident and are appealing for information and witnesses.

    Detective Inspector Iqbal Ahmed of GMP’s Trafford District said:

    “Thankfully, the boy has made good progress and his injuries are not as severe as first thought.

    “We wish him well as he continues his recovery and we continue our investigations.

    “The attack occurred in daylight on a relatively busy residential street and we’re confident there are witnesses who will be able to assist with our enquiries.

    “If you have any information or footage that can help, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
