Bolton Road in Swinton was taped off by police earlier today as emergency services responded to an incident which we are being told by witnesses to have been a suspected explosive device found by builders in the front garden of a house.

This has yet to be confirmed by GMP.

This would appear not to be the case as emergency services have now stood down.

An area just after the roundabout on Irlams O' Th Height was cordoned of all the way up towards the junction with Agecroft Road.

Traffic in the area was diverted as were bus services but the road has now since been reopened and is flowing as normal.

We have contacted GMP for more information.
