It has become something of a much loved annual event which attracts people in their thousands to the park, this year will not disappoint as the public from far and wide will once more be invited to descend upon the park to enjoy the Bonfire celebrations and as always it is totally free.

The event will start at around 5pm with a 'Little Sparks in the Park' display scheduled for around 5:30pm. This is a smaller display for the younger children with an emphasis on less noise and big bangs.

The bonfire will be lit from 7pm onwards with the main firework event taking place 30 mins later at 7:30pm with the event closing at 9:30pm.

A funfair will be on site again this year as will the various burger and hotdog stands so be sure to bring a little cash if you want something to eat.

As always parking is seriously restricted so be sure to get there early if you are looking for a spot and try to be respectful of the locals by not blocking roads or drives with your cars.

There are bus routes from across the city which cris-cross the area which we would recommend if and where possible as the roads around the park can become highly congested.

We have added the beautiful video of the 2016 display above which was put together by Daniel Moisescu on Youtube, check out his channel.
