When it comes to St Ann's in Little Hulton I think everyone in this great city of ours is aware of the completely outstanding level of care they give to those who are unfortunate enough to require it. The team at the hospice don't need or require praise but we are going to give it them anyhow as they are truly amazing and the support they give not only to patients but also to family is truly exceptional.

Which is why so many make it their mission to get out there and raise funds to keep them doing what they do.

And so with that in mind Corries Andy Whyment (better known as his beloved character Kirky), has quite literally thrown down the gauntlet and is challenging YOU to walk on fire in aid of supporting the patients at the local hospice.

The daring Fire-walk will be held on Saturday the 22nd of Feb at their base in Little Hulton and anyone who feels brave enough to hot step up to the challenge is welcome to face their fears and walk across the stretch of burning embers.

Don't worry though as there will be a two-hour motivational training session to get participants ready and in the right frame of mind to face the challenge ahead.

Which will pretty much be a 20ft long walkway of 1,236 degree Fahrenheit burning wood embers and you will be doing it in your bare feet.

"My approach to challenges, including when I was on I’m a Celebrity, was just to throw myself into them and make the most of the experience.

"Not everyone is lucky enough to get the chance to test themselves the way that I did, but a Firewalk definitely comes close.

"Please sign up to help raise lots of money for an amazing cause – they have supported my family in the past and I’ll always be grateful to everyone at St Ann’s Hospice.

"Good luck to everyone taking part, and remember, you can do it!"

Chief Exec of St Ann's, Eamonn O'Neal, said:

    Quote

"Blaze provides the longest fire-walk in the UK, so it really is the ultimate challenge for anyone wanting to test their metal.

"I can imagine the walk will be a life-changing event for those who take part, so please do sign up to help us raise lots of money for local patients and their families.

"Our Fire-walk is the perfect challenge for all fitness levels and groups and corporate teams are welcome to take part.

"The organisers are very experienced, so people can expect to go away from the event feeling empowered and ready to tackle any challenge."

So do you fancy hot footing it for St Ann's?
