    GMP's Salford North-East Neighbourhood Team discovered a cannabis farm in Kersal this morning after they executed a search warrant at an address in the area.

    The crack down is part of an ongoing effort to tackle crime in the area.

    The team have also been out in force in Lower Broughton where for the next two weeks they will be tackling crime on the Heath Avenue Estate.

    Over the last few weeks multiple stop search's have been carried out and various troublesome youths have been identified and are in the process of being dealt with.

    Earlier this week a burglar was locked up at the scene and wanted person located thanks to the proactive work of officers.

    On Monday night, police say that they were called to reports of a burglary in the Lower Broughton area.

    The male was caught red handed by officers and was charged with two burglaries and one attempt theft of a motor vehicle.

    He was remanded in custody and will be appearing at court today (Thursday 5th March).
