  • CASH MACHINE PRISED OPEN AND MONEY STOLEN AFTER A BREAK-IN AT A LOCAL JET PETROL STATION IN ORDSALL

    Police were called after reports of a break-in at a local Jet Petrol Station this morning, the thieves made a hole in the wall to gain entry and once inside they prised open a cash machine and made off with an unknown amount of cash.

    During the attack which took place shortly after midnight, loud voices and banging noises could be heard from within the building. The intruders damaged the building and left rubble behind on the floor.

    The thieves managed to get in and out before the police arrived and there have been no reports of any arrests made so far.

    A police spokesperson said,

    "Shortly after midnight on October 9, 2010, police were called to reports of an ATM attack at a petrol station on Oldfield Road in Salford.

    "Loud voices and banging could be heard.

    "The ATM was prised open and an unknown amount of was cash stolen."
