Earlier today, Courtney Brierley, 23, appeared via a video-link at Manchester Crown Court

She entered a guilty plea to the offence of manslaughter of 37-year-old Ms Michelle Pearson, who died in August 2019, almost a year after fire tore through her Walkden home killing four of her young children.

Brierley, currently residing at HMP Send, Ripley, Surrey, will be sentenced at a later date.

Meanwhile Zak Bolland, aged 26, will stand trial along with David Worrall, aged 28, on Monday March 15th both are charged with the murder of Michelle after previously having been found guilty of the murders of her children who died in the fire back in November 2017.

The murders at the time were described as the most barbaric and brutal in Salford's history.

Our thoughts as ever are with Michelle's family and friends.
