On Monday 30 January 2023 at around 4:30pm, GMP were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a white Ford EcoSport and a cyclist on Gore Avenue in Salford – heading in the direction of Weaste Lane.

An 18-year-old man received medical treatment for serious injuries.

The vehicle involved was abandoned on Cranbrook Road, Winton on the evening of Tuesday 31 January 2023.

The registration plate, which was cloned on the vehicle was FX17 VOM. The true keeper of these number plates have no connection to this investigation.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the areas at the time or may have seen the white Ford EcoSport elsewhere to please come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam and doorbell footage that may have picked up the white Ford EcoSport on the road just before, during, or just after the incident.

Detective Inspector Chris Horsfield of Salford CID said:
