On Tuesday 14 February, officers attended Clarendon Park over concerns for the welfare of a man thought to be in his 40's - 50's.

He was taken to hospital with head injuries, but thankfully he remains in a stable condition.

At the time officers attended and cordoned off West High Street which leads to the park.

Today, (Thursday 2 March), GMP say that they have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in police custody for questioning.
