The city council has teamed up with leading pet wellbeing charity, PDSA, and the NHS to offer free health checks and expert pet advice this month.
A specialist PDSA vet nurse and staff members from the health improvement service will be out on location in the following communities:
• Monday 09 July, 10am to 5pm – Albert Park M7 2ZS
• Tuesday 10 July, 10am to 5pm – Victoria Park M27 4UR
• Wednesday 11 July, 10am to 5pm – Princes Park M44 6BR
• Thursday 12 July, 10am to 5pm – Dukes Drive M30 8AP
• Friday 13 July, 10am to 5pm – Buile Hill Park M6 8GL
The over 40s check, which takes about 20minutes, covers body mass index (BMI), blood pressure and cholesterol. The dog MOT includes free nail clipping and ear cleaning as well as microchipping.

“This is a new way to get out into the heart of communities across the city and provide free checks to see if people and pets are healthy. We’d encourage people to have a free health check and make sure everything is ok. By getting tested early you can nip problems in the bud before they turn into anything major.”
PDSA Vet Nurse Kylie said: “We know people love their pets and want the best for them, which is why PDSA is here to help. Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery we can offer free, friendly advice and support, helping owners to make small changes that often make big differences to the wellbeing of pets in Salford.”
PDSA’s PetCheck vehicle will return to the area later in the year. More information is available on PDSA’s website at www.pdsa.org.uk/petcheck.
Appointments for the over 40s MOT can be booked on 0800 952 1000.
