The flooding and attrocious weather did not seem to deter the cities drug dealers this weekend as police in Higher Broughton arrested a male on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply a Class A Drug.
Officers from the A relief Neighbourhood Team were out and about on routine patrol when they spotted a male loitering in an alleyway which is a well known drug dealing hot-spot in the area.
As they made their approach the male was seen and heard to shout “GO”, in doing so alerting another male on a mountain bike further down the alleyway who quickly turned around and attempted to make his get-away.
Unluckily for the drug peddling cyclist, he unwittingly rode straight into the arms of an awaiting police officer stationed at the opposite end of the alleyway and he was swiftly detained for a stop search.
The male was subsequently found in possession of a quantity of suspected drugs and cash and as a result he was arrested on the spot.
It brings a whole new meaning to drug peddling.
