Hundreds of visitors called into Elm Bank Masonic Hall, Half Edge Lane, Eccles today, Sunday 11th December to visit the Craft Fair.
I must admit I am not a fan of craft fairs I find them a bit twee, but I was pleasantly surprised at both the number and variety of stalls displaying their wares,
There were about thirty stalls selling hand made crafts including, scented candles, perfumes, crochet work, gift cards, hand painted bottles, wooden toys, hair accessories, craft sets etc, basically everything and anything for the person who loves craft work.
Dave from The Leaf Bean Pod Cafe, Eccles was doing a roaring trade selling his artisan pies, cakes and fudges, he told me that he sold 30 of his Salford pies within the first half hour, his complete stock of them, happily there were plenty more of his other pies for the eager customers.
Santa and his two lovely helpers were on hand as free gifts were handed out from his Grotto to each child there, a nice touch.
Add to this free admission, ample free car parking space, wheelchair access, a licenced bar, hot food, cakes, tea and coffee and it was bound to be a sure fire hit.
The organisers, ANJU Events tell me there are plans to have a Craft Fair on the last Sunday of each month, next year, so be sure to call in you'll be in for a pleasant surprise, just like I was
