Eight fire engines and up to forty fire fighters from Salford and Greater Manchester are currently tackling a huge blaze which has broken out in a building on Langley Road in Pendleton at around 11am this morning (31st March).
Firefighters are currently tackling the fire from above via a platform.
Locals have been advised to close their windows and doors as there is heavy smoke in the area which could cause breathing dificulties, a trail of smoke can be seen in the sky for miles.
Diversions have been put in place between Agecroft and Whit Lane and drivers are being diverted onto Littleton Road.
It is unlcear at the moment if anyone has been injured but there have been reports of ambulances attending the scene.
The cause of the fire at this moment remains unclear.
A spokesperson for GMFRS said:

"At just before 11:00 on Tuesday 31 March, eight fire engines were called to reports of a fire at a single-storey building on an industrial estate on Langley Road, Salford.
"Crews were quickly on the scene and are currently fighting the 50x50m blaze, using eight breathing apparatus, four jets, and one aerial appliance.
"Local residents are being advised to keep all windows and doors closed and to avoid the area."
