    Salford News

Emergency services were called to Salford Quays earlier this morning (Wednesday 9th November) after a report of concern for welfare by a member of the public.

Emergency vehicles including several Fire Engines were seen close to the Lowry roundabout shortly after 10:30am.

Sadly a body was recovered from the water  not long after.

Police say that their enquiries are on going to determine the circumstance of the death.

As with all instances such as this we prefer not to report right away in order for friends and relatives to be informed via the police rather than on social media.

A statement issued by Greater Manchester Police, reads:

    Quote

“At around 10.30am this morning, police were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a person in the water in Salford Quays.

“Emergency services attended, and sadly a body was found.

    “Enquiries are ongoing.”

    Our condolences to the family.
