Emergency services were called shortly before 11pm (7th Dec) to reports of what is believed to be a road traffic accident between a motor-vehicle and pedestrian close to the junction of Manchester Road and Billy Lane in Clifton.
The road was temporarily closed and traffic diverted whilst emergency services dealt with the situation, although by 1:15am the following morning (8th Dec) the roads were reopened.

A witness reported that there was heavy rain fall in the area with a considerable amount of surface water visible on the road shortly before the incident.
Police and Ambulance services attended but as yet it is unclear as to the medical status of any those involved.
We have asked GMP & NWAS for more information.
This is the second serious accident on Salfords roads within 24 hours after a car ended up on its side after a collision in Kersal yesterday afternoon (7th Dec).
