    A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder after police received a report of concern for welfare at a block of flats on Adelphi Street, which lead to the discovery of a body by emergency services.

    An investigation was immediately launched, as a result of which, James Johnson (25/06/93) has now been remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday 30 June 2022. 

    At around 5.25pm on Saturday 25 June 2022, police received a report of concern for the welfare of an individual at a property on Adelphi Street, Salford.

    The deceased has since been formally identified as 40-year-old David Toulson (pictured), who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. 

    David's family have released the following statement, paying tribute to a beloved son, brother and uncle.

    "It's with a heavy heart and disbelief that our beloved son, brother and uncle Dave, tragically lost his life on 25th June 2022.

    "As a family we are heartbroken beyond belief to have lost him so young. He will be forever in our hearts and missed by many."

     

    At around 5.25pm on Saturday 25 June 2022, we received a report of concern for the welfare of an individual at a property on Adelphi Street, Salford. Emergency services attended and David was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. 

    A man has been charged with murder and remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday 30 June 2022.
