    The family of Saul Cookson have paid tribute to "the most sweetest, kindest boy ever."

    15-year-old Saul, tragically died following a road traffic collision which happened on Langworthy Road, Salford yesterday (Thursday 8 June 2023).

    It is believed that a traffic police unit was in pursuit of the teen moments before the E-Bike he was travelling on collided with a parked ambulance.

    Greater Manchester Police has since referred the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), who are leading an investigation into the crash.

    His mum, Emma Frendo, said:

    “Saul was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, and nephew, loved by all that met him. He was the sweetest, most kindest boy ever, and always had the biggest infectious smile and was full of love.”

    His family have asked for both the media and the community to respect their privacy at this time.

    They have requested that people remember Saul privately and please avoid going to the family home while they continue to grieve.
