A prisoner was taken to hospital for medical attention and a female prison officer was reportedly injured during what is described as a ten-man brawl which took place at HMP Forrest Bank on Monday 9th Jan.
The nature of the inmates injuries are not known but it is said that he was violently assaulted.
The female officer's injuries are also unknown.
The prison was recently in the news again after another death on site.
A spokeswoman for HMP Forest Bank, said:
Quote"We can confirm an incident took place on 9 January, and a prisoner was taken to hospital for medical attention."
