On Thursday 28 June 2018 GMP officers executed warrants in Little Hulton and Leigh as part of an investigation into a series of armed robberies that occurred at banks across Greater Manchester.
Between September 2017 and April 2018 there were two armed robberies in Walkden and Ramsbottom, and an attempted robbery in Moss Side.
The below men have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and have been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 30 June 2018:
Jack Pennington (1/3/1990) of Carrfield Avenue, Little Hulton
Thomas Keane (25/5/1966) of Green Lane, Leigh
Lucas Dodd (6/8/1999) of Dovecote Lane, Little Hulton
David Oxton (7/8/1984) of Longshaw Lane, Little Hulton
Robert White (2/5/1990) of HMP Forrest Bank.
Meanwhile, a 32-year-old man who was arrested at the same time on suspicion of conspiracy to robbery has been released under investigation.
The offences occurred between September 2017 and April 2018.
Detective Sergeant Rick Castley of GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group said:
Quote“Crimes such as armed robberies can intimidate people in the community and make people feel unsafe in their homes and their workplace, and we simply will not tolerate it.
“Our team are committed to exhausting every line of enquiry in order to catch individuals responsible for this type of criminality.
