FORENSICS OFFICERS ON SCENE AT LIGHT OAKS PARK

Update: A spokesperson for GMP has told us that there were reports of suspected human remains being found  within the park, however we are being told by our man on the ground that the investigation has now ended and police have left the scene.

We are being told by members of the public that the remains are those of an animal, although that has not yet been confirmed. 

The park and pond are now back open to the public and police tape has been removed.

Greater Manchester Police are currently carrying out a forensic investigation at Light Oaks Park in Salford

The nature of the incident is currently unknown but it is reportedly focused around the duck pond area where a forensics tent has been errected.

As soon as we have more details we will update this article.
