Shortly after 2pm on Thursday 11 July 2019, officers were called to reports of shots being exchanged between two men on a stolen motorcycle and at least two men in a blue Renault Megane.
The incident happened as locals were picking up their children from a nearby primary school.
The rider and pillion passenger on a black Yamaha MT130 motorcycle, fled the scene, as did the occupants of the car who left it abandoned on nearby Port Soderick Avenue.
Officers found evidence consistent with a firearms discharge at the scene. There are thought to have been no injuries.
Following a number of warrants executed in the Salford area yesterday, four men- aged 17, 18, 22 and 25- were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Officers also recovered a handgun.
Two of the men- aged 22 and 25- remain in custody for questioning. An 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were released on bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Joanne Kay, from GMP’s Salford District, said:
