  • FUND RAISING CONCERT FOR SALFORD CHARITY LOAVES AND FISHES

    Salford News

Salford Loaves and Fishes based on Paddington Close, Salford are a charity which does magnificent work in the community, offering much needed help and advice to the homeless and free hot meals to those in need.

They will be holding a music and poetry evening on Friday 1st April to help money for the centre, with music from Sheedyfrost, Helen Hall and Salford poet, Simon Williams.

I spoke to Paul Frost one half of the duo, Sheedyfrost obviously! about their involvement and what we can expect on the night.

    Quote

"We were invited to perform for their Christmas online specials for the past two years, which was due to the Covid outbreak, we spoke to Paul Ashton and decided it would be a good idea to do a live show from Loaves and Fishes

Vincent Sheedy and I met way back in 1966 and played music together on and off and then in 2000 we started performing as a duo and we are still going!

On the night we will be performing mainly our own compositions, songs about Salford and Trafford, people and places also a song we co-wrote with Simon Williams.

Joining us on the night will be the talented, multi instrumentalist, Helen Hall, and Salford poet Simon Williams who will be delivering his inimitable, down to earth, street poetry, fresh from his gigs at Wigan Diggers and the Pete Shelley Memorial Concert.

It will be nice to be performing and we am looking forward to it, also a chance to meet new people for a chat and a drink, hopefully I will see you there!"

The tickets cost £10 included in this is a hot pot supper a glass of wine or two, tea or coffee and a raffle, what more could you ask?

The concert starts at 7.30pm until 10.00pm and tickets are available from the link below, but be quick it is selling out quick and  only a few tickets are left.
