    The annual Halloween Spooktacular Party, Friday 25th October, 2-8pm, Buile Hill Park in Salford

    Enjoy spooky family fun with frightful face painting, gruesome glitter tattoos, creepy crafts, spooky story telling, climbing wall, fairground rides, and curious critters animal and insect displays. Fancy dress is essential! Free entry. Additional charges apply for rides and stalls. Advance purchase discounted wristbands for unlimited rides for 2 hours available for £5. Food and refreshments available on site.

    The Witches Walk at Buile Hill Park Friday 25th October from 4pm. £3 per person (under 2s free).  Last few tickets remaining.

    This event is always a sell-out. Prepare to be creeped-out by taking part in the scariest-ever walk complete with spooky zones, freaky characters, amazing special effects, stilt walkers and live dance performances - frightfully good family fun for those that are brave enough. Walks start from 4pm and lasts up to an hour.

    Spooky sports events

    Ambrose Barlow  Sports & Performing Arts Camp, Monday 21 to Thursday 24 October, 8am - 6pm, St Ambrose Barlow RC High School

    Various prices (see below), booking required. The BEST Holiday Camp in the city is back for October half term. Come and join our team of experienced tutors and specialist coaches in a variety of workshops and coaching sessions including dance, drama, music and sport. Children will learn new skills, be creative and most of all have fun. Suitable for children aged 5-12 years.

    Offsite activities will also be available to swimming for children 8 years and over. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

    There are two start/finish time options for this camp:

    8.00am - 6.00pm - £68 per week / £20 per day

    9.00am - 3.30pm - £44 per week / £15 per day

    Halloween pool parties

    Jump into our spooky pumpkin-coloured pools if you dare.

    Friday 25 October 1.00 - 2.00pm & 2.00 - 3.00pm at Swinton & Pendlebury Leisure Centre and Saturday 26th October 1.10pm-2pm and 2.05-2.55pm at Worsely Leisure centre. Join us for a spooky Halloween themed family fun swim in our orange coloured pool.  Booking is required.

    Halloween Hunt at Blackleach Country Park

    Thursday 31 October, 4.30 - 5.30pm, £4 per child, booking required

    This Room on the Broom themed hunt in conjunction with Salford Libraries includes storytelling and craft at Blackleach Country Park. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Book online or at Walkden Library.  

    Other half term libraries events include Room On A Broom storytelling at four libraries:

    Tuesday 22 October | 1.45 - 2.45pm | Height Library
    Tuesday 22 October | 2.00 - 3.00pm | Broughton Library
    Wednesday 23 October | 10.30 - 11.30am | Lower Kersal Library
    Thursday 24 October | 11.00am - 12.00pm | Swinton Library
    £1 for library members | £1.50 for non-library members | £3 for families, suitable for ages 0 - 7 years. Bring your little witches and wizards down for a re-telling of Julia Donaldson's Room on the Broom. There will be spooky crafts and activities inspired by the book. Drop-in, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

    Ordsall Hall

    Halloween Gnome Trail at Ordsall Hall – back by popular demand

    The gnome trail will take place 21st October until 3rd November (during usual opening hours), £2 each, drop in. Some very creepy gnomes have taken over Ordsall Hall. Can you find them all? .

    Other Ordsall Hall Halloween events include; Apple Day, Secret Spell Books, Its Not Just A Stick, Ghostly Storytelling Day and Pumpkin Paining Workshop. For full list of events and details, please go to https://ordsallhall.com/whats-on/

    Salford Museum and Art Gallery

    Family Film ‘Screaming’ of Hotel Transylvania (rated ‘U’) at Salford Museum and Art Gallery

    Saturday 19 October 5.00 - 7.00pm, adults £8, children £6 (includes drink & snack), booking required. Come to this special after-hours family screening of Hotel Transylvania and watch out for things that go bump in the night.

    There are other half term events and activities at Salford Museum and Art Gallery between 19-25 October including Toys Through Time (£1.50 for toy kit), Washday Wednesdays (free) and Lark Hill Place Through The Ages (free), Museum Explorers (£2) and the Lark Hill Place Sweet Shop.
