Within this role, you will be responsible for providing vital information for the effective, safe, and efficient conduct of flights using the aerodrome and the associated air traffic zone. Previous experience is not essential as full training is provided.
City Airport is a busy general aviation airport with a complex traffic environment and are looking for an individual who is able to work under a variety of workloads, is flexible, and willing to help us develop and grow our business whilst providing first class service to our customers.
Employment is subject to passing a defined medical standard, passing of written examinations and suitable progress through initial training programme and successful validation during a probationary period in accordance with CAP 1032 Aerodrome FISO Licensing.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Conduct duties to provide an Aerodrome Flight Information Service, and maintain FISO competency in accordance with Airport policies and procedures.
Co-ordinate the interaction of aircraft operations and airside activities.
Monitor and maintain aerodrome status systems and equipment.
Promulgate and record information about aerodrome status and conditions.
Inspect the apron and manoeuvring area and monitor/co-ordinate work in progress.
Carry out FISO training and instruction to maintain own qualification and support the training activity of the Airport.
Assume Airport Duty Officer Responsibilities when required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The holder must;
Hold a Current UK driving licence
Be of suitable fitness to hold an appropriate medical certificate
Have an ability to work well under pressure
Have an ability to prioritise and organise own workload
Be capable of fast decision making in a high paced, multitasking environment.
Be a good team player
Be able to maintain the confidentiality of company and security-related information within the department.
FLIGHT INFORMATION SERVICE OFFICER
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week (annualised) on a repeating shift rota basis which will include regular weekend working including eight and ten hour shifts. 7 day/week availability required. Flexibility essential. Additional hours will be required to cover provide shift cover and for operational requirements.
Term: Permanent following suitable medical assessment and validation within a 6 month probationary period.
Salary: Starting at £23,000 per annum.
Location: City Airport & Heliport (Barton Aerodrome).
