  • HERO FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE A PERSON FROM A BURNING FLAT IN CADISHEAD

    Heroic firefighters from Irlam and Eccles, saved a life this evening after carrying the occupant of a burning building in Cadishead to safety.

    Emergency services had responded to reports of a fire breaking out in flat on Liverpool Road, close to the junction with School Lane.

    The firefighters entered the burning building and thankfully managed to locate a person inside who was quickly rescued and taken to safety.

    The road was temporarily closed to traffic during the incident but has since been reopened.

    Public house, The Coach and Horses; along with several local takeaways provided refreshments and warm shelter to those who had been displaced from their homes, until the flames were extinguished and they were made safe once more.
