    An HMP Forrest Bank prison officer from Darwen has denied murdering David Toulson who was found dead in his Adelphi Street flat on his 40th birthday.

    Appearing at Manchester Crown Court, 29-year-old James Johnson plead not guilty to the charge of murder via video-link at a pre trial hearing held this morning (2nd August).

    The case was adjourned until a pre-trial review on the 4th of November, with the trial set for December.

    Mr Johnson was remanded back into custody until that date.
