    Salford News

Shortly before 8pm on Friday 20 September, police were called by the ambulance service to Station Road, Swinton regarding reports that a man had sustained injuries.

Despite best efforts of emergency services staff who performed CPR at the scene, the man sadly later died in hospital.

The investigation is now focused on a first floor of a property, with forensics officers coming and going throughout the day.

There was some speculation on various local social media groups that a shooting had taken place after a large bang was heard by people living close-by, however, GMP have assured us that that is not the case and the mans injuries were not from a firearm.

GMP officers were quick on the scene and quickly established a cordon which is at this present time still in place, the circumstances around the death are currently being investigated.

We will update this article once more information is released.
