The selection of a Jury for the trial of two Salford men for the murder of Walkden mum Michelle Pearson is underway with the case against them set to open at Manchester Crown Court in the morning.

Zak Bolland, 26, and David Worrall, 28, have both denied murdering Michelle Pearson, despite already having previously been found guilty of the murder of four children as the result of a fire they set back in November 2017 as the family slept in their Walkden home.

Last week, Courtney Brierley aged 23, Plead guilty to the manslaughter of Michelle during an appearance via video link from HMP Send, Ripley, Surrey.

Ms Pearson died in August 2019 after a mammoth struggle with her injuries sustained during the fire, almost a year after the flames tore through her Walkden home killing four of her young children.

The trial is set to last at least three weeks.
