It is part of their commitment to work together with local communities, listen and tackle the issues that affect the community the most and have a direct say in how, and where, public funds can be used to address local needs.
According to police statistics, anti-social behaviour is the key issue affecting Langworthy, therefore, it is essential that funds are used to address this issue.
Funding can be obtained using an application form.
We are looking to recruit local community representatives and organisations to work with Salford City Council and the Police to distribute the funding. This will involve being part of a steering group who will need to:
Attend 3 steering group meetings
Think of a project name that is catchy
- Agree successful application criteria (Essential criteria has been set to tackling anti-social behaviour but the steering group are able to add additional criteria)
- Agree min/max amount individuals/groups can bid for
- Agree pick up and drop off points for applications (if not completed online)
- Agree how and where the project will be advertised
- Agree time and date of meeting to review applications and agree which progress to public event (having allowed 3 weeks for applications to be submitted)
- Attend 3 steering group meetings
The steering groups must be mainly made up by community representatives.
At this stage, we asking for expressions of interest from community groups and agencies who would like to be involved in the process. Please ensure you are able to attend the 3 meeting dates below and emailgemma.rice@salford.gov.uk or call on 0161 793 3796 to let us know if you’re interested.
