Last week thanks to the wonderful Brian Gorman, the renowned artist, author, actor and good chap, who kindly donated a portrait of Manchester United footballer, Edison Cavani to be auctioned off to raise money for the Eccles Mustard Tree emergency foodbank, we have got a winner.
John Mottershead from Swinton, contacted us today with a wonderful £100 bid , which beat the nearest bid of £80 by John Brierley, close, but no cigar, John!
We shall be dropping the artwork off for John this week and hopefully posing for a cheesy photograph with him, as we collect the cash!
From there we shall call in at Mustard Tree, Eccles and hand the money over to staff at the foodbank, who I know will spend the money on essentials for the less fortunate.
Finally we shall be doing a live stream interview with Brian Gorman this Wednesday afternoon, when he will be chatting about his artwork, his acting and the forthcoming production of his play, New Dawn Fades - A Play About Joy Division and Manchester, which opens in September.
