Yesterday, Wednesday 27 June 2018, the Spanish National Police working with the National Crime Agency arrested a man on behalf of Greater Manchester Police after a European Arrest Warrant was granted.
The man, aged 28, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder in connection with the shooting of Christian and his mum, Jayne, on the doorstep of their home in Salford on Monday 12 October 2015.
Christian and his mum, who were aged seven and 30 at the time of the incident, were taken to hospital and had to undergo numerous surgeries before being discharged.
This week, six men have been charged in connection with the investigation and appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 28 June 2018.
Detective Chief Inspector Carl Jones, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said:
Quote“This arrest forms part of the wider investigation and follows the years of extensive enquiries carried out by dedicated officers.
“The six men who appeared in court today in connection with this investigation have been remanded into custody.”
