A man has been charged with two counts of criminal damage and one count of theft after police were called to a Betfred Shop in Salford on Monday (3rd Feb).

Police responded to a report that a man had entered the shop and stole £1025 as a member of staff was in the process of emptying a games machine. After a heated exchange with staff the man left the building kicking and damaging the door on his way out.

The following day (Tuesday 4th Feb) the same man returned once more and this time smashed a glass panel in a door before making a quick get-away.

After a search by officers from Salford North East Neighbourhood Team the man was located and subsequently arrested.

He was taken to be interviewed at the local police station and charged then released with what police say are stringent bail conditions pending his future appearance in court.
