  • MAN CHARGED WITH RAPE AFTER POLICE CALLED TO REGENTS RETAIL PARK ON SUNDAY MORNING

    25-year-old John Hawkins of Manchester Road in Westhoughton has been charged with rape following an incident at Regents Retail Park in Ordsall on Sunday 30th October.

    At around 7:55am, police were alerted to an alleged rape having occurred close to the Costa Coffee store on the site. The area was taped off as forensics officers conducted their investigations.

    Mr Hawkins has now been charged with one count of rape and was scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates court today (1st November).

    Police are appealing to anyone with information, if you can help with the case then please call 101 quoting incident 1087 of October 30 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
