    Salford News

Shortly before 1:45pm emergency services were called to reports that a man had been struck by a train at Clifton Junction in Salford.

British Transport police attended alongside Greater Manchester Ambulance service but sadly the man died at the scene.

Trains were temporarily halted between Salford and Bolton and temporary bus services put in place but trains are now running again.

There are no suspicious circumstances behind the man's death and BTP said they are working to inform his next-of-kin.

We send our condolences to his friends and family.
