  • MAN DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY VEHICLE ON A575 WORSLEY ROAD NORTH

    Just before 10.30pm on Wednesday 20 July 2022 emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Worsley Road North in the direction of Bolton.

    Sadly, it has been confirmed that the pedestrian, a man aged 32, has died. The pedestrian was stood at a bus stop and has possibly had a medical episode which has caused him to fall onto the carriageway.

    Following the collision the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound on Worsley Road in the direction of Bolton.

    PC Horner of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

    "Our thoughts are very much with the man's family who are understandably devastated by the tragic event that occurred on Wednesday 20 July.

    "We have launched an investigation into the circumstances of this incident and are appealing to anyone with information or dashcam and CCTV footage of the incident to contact officers in the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting log 3710 20/07/2022

    "Alternatively, information can be shared online using the Live Chat function on www.gmp.police.uk. If you are unable to report online, call 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
