  • MAN DIES AFTER MOTORCYCLE COLLISION WITH A CAR ON LIVERPOOL ROAD IN BARTON

    It is with great sadness that we have to report that a motorcyclist involved in a collision with a car on Liverpool Road (A57) in Barton yesterday morning, has sadly died as a result of his injuries.

    Police have now launched an appeal for information from members of the public who may have witnessed the accident which saw the Westbound carriage way of the busy road closed completely yesterday morning.

    Officers were called at around 5.56am to a report of a collision on Liverpool Road, near to Barton Airport, involving a car and a motorbike.

    Emergency services attended and sadly the driver of the motorbike - a man aged 46  - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

    The driver of the car - a Ford Fiesta - remained at the scene to assist police.

    There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.
