At around 3.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 7 August 2019) police were called to Cadishead Way, Salford to reports of a collision involving a Toyota Hilux D-4D and a Scania Tipper truck.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the Toyota – a 22-year-old man – was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains there in a critical condition.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Police Sergeant Joe Barron, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
Quote“First and foremost our thoughts are very much with the young man and his family and what must be an incredibly difficult time.
“I would appeal to anyone that was in the area at the time and saw either vehicle in the lead up to the collision to please get in touch with us, as even the smallest detail could prove vital to our investigation.
“We are also particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage as we continue with our enquiries and work hard to piece together exactly what happened.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 1777 of 08/08/19. Reports can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
