GMP responded to reports of a disturbance involving a group of men on Manchester Road in Clifton at around 3 am this morning (Friday 28th June). A man was subsequently found suffering from life threatening injuries whereupon he was taken to the local Salford Royal Hospital to be treated.
Three men have since been arrested on suspicion of having committed a section 18 assault. They remain in custody for questioning.
Eyes witnesses say they saw a man being chased by another man in a car in the early hours of the morning.
In a statement GMP said,
Quote"Shortly before 3am on Friday, June 28, 2019 officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving several men outside a property in Manchester Road at Clifton.
"A man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries.
"Three men have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. They remain in custody for questioning."
