  • MAN PLEADS GUILTY AFTER ECCLES KNIFE ATTACK

    Anthony Leather aged 46 of Southway in Eccles, has plead guilty to the charges of intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife, via a video link to Manchester Crown Court this morning (19th July).

    He is set to be sentenced on the 6th September.

    Emergency services were called on the 6th of June to the scene at the grounds of St Mary's Church, Eccles, in which a 31-year-old man had been slashed across the face with what is believed to be a Stanley Knife. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to Salford Royal Hospital where he was required to have 20 stitches to his face.

    Leather was remanded back into prison whilst a presentence report is compiled, the judge telling him that he can expect a lengthy prison sentence.
